Bringing responsibility to life

Corporate citizenship with compassion and drive

Corporate citizenship is not just a trend at DVAG. It is a central component of our corporate culture. For over 50 years, the family-owned company – as the largest independent comprehensive financial advisory firm taking a holistic financial advisory approach – has stood for performance, partnership and an exceptional sense of solidarity like no other.

Taking responsibility

For Andreas Pohl, Chairman of the Management Board at Deutsche Vermögensberatung (DVAG), promoting social participation is not merely a corporate responsibility. It is a personal matter close to his heart. Together with DVAG and the non-profit association “DVAG hilft e.V.”, he supports a wide range of areas, including education, environmental and climate protection, art, culture and sport. The focus of every project is children and young people. The family-owned company once again demonstrated its great willingness to help on the occasion of its 50th anniversary, when a joint donation of one million euros was presented to the “Stiftung RTL – Wir helfen Kindern e.V.” The funds are primarily intended to support projects run by the initiatives brotZeit e.V. and Tafel Deutschland, which provide breakfast and meals for children and young people.

Personal commitment makes all the difference

Nathalie Pohl and Annabell Pohl, founding members of “DVAG hilft e. V.”, are also committed to helping children and young people. Nathalie Pohl, an extreme swimmer and patron of the German Red Cross regional associations in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Westphalia-Lippe, is committed to promoting swimming to over 5,000 children every year. She regularly goes into the water with the children, with the aim of teaching them about safety. In October, the 31-year-old once again showed just how deeply she cares about children. She combined her personal dream of achieving a third world record (swimming around Ibiza in a relay team) with a charity campaign. Nathalie Pohl donated the entire sum of over €150,000 to “DVAG hilft e.V.” to fund further beginner’s swimming courses in Germany.

Annabell Pohl’s dedicated goal is to encourage girls and young women to try new things and find out more about sectors that are “typically male-dominated”, without any pressure or prejudice. As part of the partnership with the German Children and Youth Foundation, she supports science-focused educational projects for girls and young women through the “Wir stärken Mädchen – future ready” (We Empower Girls – future ready) programme. In 2025, five schools in Hesse received funding once again. One of them was the Elisabethschule in Marburg, where patron Annabell Pohl visited to hear the pupils’ research findings. Over the past three years, over 160 girls have been able to take part in the programme.

Support that comes from the heart

It is not only the management and the founding members who are active when it comes to helping others. In particular, DVAG’s financial coaches are involved in numerous regional projects and initiatives across Germany, for example through the “Herzensprojekte” (Projects Close to Our Hearts). “DVAG hilft e.V.” has already received over 300 funding applications from the financial coaches. Among others, support was provided to the Kiel-based association “Sail United e.V.” . This organisation is dedicated to ensuring that people with and without disabilities can experience the thrill of water sports together. DVAG Brand Ambassador Wojtek Czyz was also present when Financial Advisor Christian Preuß handed over the donation.

Through food bank educational opportunities, for example, a circus education project was implemented at the Quedlinburg food bank.

Equal opportunities for children and young people: with food bank educational opportunities

Almost 30 per cent of people who receive food from food banks are under 18. They often also have limited access to education and social participation. Since 2020, DVAG, through the association “DVAG hilft e.V.”, has been the main partner for educational projects for children and young people run by Tafel Deutschland. The jointly launched support programme “Tafel-Bildungschancen” (Food Bank Educational Opportunities) helps local food banks to offer accessible and child-friendly projects. Over the past five years, 75 educational projects have already been supported in this way, reaching more than 5,000 children and young people.

Looking to the future

DVAG is not only committed to social projects, but also to climate and environmental protection. In line with its intergenerational approach, Germany’s largest independent Financial Services Provider is committed to measures to reduce CO2  emissions. Efficient working practices and environmental protection are combined, with a constant focus on shared progress. As part of a large-scale tree-planting campaign, around 100,000 trees will be planted over the next five years. Furthermore, thanks to funding provided by “DVAG hilft e.V.” for environmental initiatives in various regions of Germany, several water tests have now been carried out at different water bodies across Germany to assess contamination by micro-plastics and the general condition of water bodies.

The family-owned company Deutsche Vermögensberatung (DVAG): the Andreas Pohl and Reinfried Pohl families.

Deutsche Vermögensberatung (DVAG) has been committed to helping others since its earliest days. For instance, the "Dr Reinfried Pohl Stiftung" foundation involves the company backing research and teaching in Marburg, while the "Anneliese Pohl Stiftung" foundation supports cancer research.

Furthermore, since 2020, DVAG has been a sponsor of the association “DVAG hilft e.V.”, which focuses on supporting the development and education of children and young people.
