Sustainable acting

Bringing responsibility to life

Social commitment is firmly anchored in the corporate culture of Deutsche Vermögensberatung (DVAG). For half a century now, the family-owned company has stood not only for performance and strength, but also for humanity and solidarity.

DVAG's value culture always puts people first. For the family-owned company, standing up for others is an essential part of responsible and sustainable business. For Andreas Pohl, Chairman of the Board for Deutsche Vermögensberatung (DVAG), social commitment and giving something back to society has always been a matter close to his heart. He not only advocates this personally, but is also involved with DVAG in a variety of ways: from providing concrete help in the event of a disaster to supporting education, climate protection, art, culture and sports, as well as promoting science. He was personally honoured with the "Legends Wings of Help Award" for his commitment to adding value to society above and beyond doing business.

Taking responsibility for society

In 2024, Deutsche Vermögensberatung (DVAG) received a seal of quality for the first time for its commitment and was recognised as a "Pioneer in Social Responsibility 2024” from the renowned F.A.Z. Institute. This award clearly shows the outside world what Deutsche Vermögensberatung (DVAG) has always stood for: personal commitment. For years, the family-owned company has supported numerous projects and initiatives, particularly in the areas around its Marburg and Frankfurt am Main locations. Since 2020, it has also been a major sponsor of “DVAG hilft e.V. – People need people.” Through this partnership, the company is focusing its social commitment and has significantly expanded it nationwide.

“DVAG hilft e.V.” is active in many areas with its partners and supporters, provided immediate aid in the Ahr Valley and in Ukraine, and boosts valuable social initiatives through its work. For example, "Tafel-Bildungschancen" has already supported around 60 educational projects to help over 3,700 children and young people, and donations in the millions have been collected as part of the RTL charity telethon. Many finance coaches also take on social responsibility themselves and get involved in numerous projects and initiatives throughout Germany. In cooperation with the association, these local “projects close to our hearts” have included creating a vegetable garden at a day care centre, offering leisure activities at a children's and youth home, and supporting food distribution and a soup kitchen for the homeless and those in need.

Over 150 funding applications from financial advisors to support projects close to their hearts have been received in 2024 alone. DVAG brand ambassador Fabian Hambüchen visited a girls' gymnastics group that was set up with support from financial advisor Eva-Maria Herrmann and "DVAG hilft e.V.".
Thanks to Annabell Pohl, Deutsche Vermögensberatung (DVAG) and DVAG hilft e.V., the “Wir stärken Mädchen – future ready” project can be run for the fourth time in Hessen.

Bringing social responsibility to life

Commitment to others is always paramount. The association's founding members, Nathalie Pohl and Annabell Pohl, are particularly committed to a fairer future for children and young people from disadvantaged families. As patron, Nathalie Pohl is instrumental in promoting swimming for children and environmental protection. The successful extreme swimmer and world record holder also enjoys getting into the water with the children herself.

In addition, ensuring safety is an important issue for her. For example, “DVAG hilft e.V.“ has been cooperating since 2024 with the Surfrider Foundation, which works to protect the oceans and beaches through research, education and political influence. As part of the company's work with the “German Children and Youth Foundation”, Annabell Pohl primarily supports (scientific) educational projects for girls and young women so that they can choose a career without prejudice and also get to know industries that are supposedly “not usually for girls”.

The Elisabethschule school in Marburg is also taking part again to promote equitable education for girls.

Thinking about the future

In addition to its social commitment and support for social projects, climate protection is also very important to Deutsche Vermögensberatung (DVAG). True to the company's commitment to thinking in terms of generations, Germany's leading independent financial advisory company also advocates securing a promising future by reducing CO2. Efficient work and environmental protection are by no means mutually exclusive. It is important to achieve more together. In addition, EcoVadis once again confirmed the quality of sustainability management at Deutsche Vermögensberatung (DVAG) in relation to ESG criteria as part of a comprehensive rating process. One brand new initiative involves a special climate protection project: 18,000 trees will be planted at five locations in Germany every year.

Deutsche Vermögensberatung (DVAG) has always stood up for others. For example, the company primarily supports research and teaching through the Dr. Reinfried Pohl Foundation at its Marburg location and cancer research through the Anneliese Pohl Foundation. In addition, DVAG has been a sponsor of the association “DVAG hilft e.V.” since 2020. This association supports disadvantaged children and young people.

Always close to their hearts: the families of Andreas Pohl and Reinfried Pohl are deeply committed to society.
