Your career coach:

Sharing knowledge, creating opportunities

A career with a future

The role of a financial advisor combines entrepreneurial thinking with personal responsibility. The comprehensive training and professional development programme offered by Deutsche Vermögensberatung (DVAG) imparts specialist knowledge, practical expertise and individual support, and provides the ideal preparation for demanding tasks. This fosters expertise, trust and long-term success.

Rising living costs, a pension system under pressure and volatile markets are causing growing financial uncertainty for many people. More than ever, they rely on reliable guidance that makes complex issues understandable and identifies individual solutions. Even in the age of digitalisation and AI, the profession of financial advisor remains indispensable: AI can support processes, but genuine rapport, trust and personal financial advice cannot be replaced by technology. In this dynamic environment, a financial advisor plays a central role as a reliable bridge-builder between individual needs and tailor-made solutions.

For five decades, DVAG has been committed to putting people at the heart of everything it does. The profession of financial advisor means more than just traditional a financial advisory approach: it combines entrepreneurial thinking with a commitment to making a contribution to society. If you want to demonstrate your capabilities, take on responsibility and, at the same time, help people achieve financial security, DVAG offers an environment that makes success possible, one characterised by excellent training and professional development, as well as attractive career prospects.

Sharing knowledge – creating opportunities

To provide successful advice, you need specialist and leadership knowledge, as well as the ability to explain complex topics clearly and in a personalised manner. That is why DVAG invests over 90 million euros annually in a training programme that goes far beyond legal requirements.

The training programme is modular, practice-oriented and flexibly designed, whether digital, hybrid or face-to-face. It comprises individual induction programmes and specialised technical training courses designed to enable knowledge to be applied directly in practice. This ensures that our financial advisors remain up to date with the latest developments at all times, including in light of changing market conditions and regulatory requirements. Alongside professional development, personal development also plays a key role.

The Leadership Academy imparts a holistic understanding of leadership and provides targeted preparation for roles that involve taking a high level of responsibility within a business context. In addition to technical and organisational expertise, the focus is particularly on people-centred abilities: relationship building, communication, providing guidance and creating an environment in which colleagues feel seen, supported and valued. A sense of responsibility, decisiveness and sustainable growth form the basis for a leadership culture that aligns with DVAG’s values and enables long-term success.

Mentoring and intergenerational exchange are integral parts of the learning culture, where experienced financial advisors pass on their knowledge and young talent brings fresh ideas. Expertise is not just passed on, it is also actively shared and firmly embedded. In this way, DVAG ensures that its financial advisors will continue to provide advice with expertise, a sense of responsibility and a personal touch in the future, regardless of their clients’ income or assets.

FHDW Marburg: Education with a vision

An outstanding example of DVAG’s approach to education is its close partnership with the University of Applied Sciences for Business (FHDW) in Marburg. The dual study programme combines academic depth with practical business experience. Over three years, students earn a state-recognised Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, IHK qualifications in insurance and finance, and the qualification to practise as a financial advisor (DBBV). They spend two-thirds of their study time at a DVAG branch office and are supported by experienced mentors, thus seamlessly linking theory with practice. Following their Bachelor’s degree, students can embark on a part-time Master’s in Management and Leadership. The Marburg campus symbolises the connection between tradition and the future. With modern lecture theatres, halls of residence, a library and communal areas, the FHDW creates an environment that equally promotes learning, exchange and team spirit.

Shaping the future – living up to our responsibilities

Deutsche Vermögensberatung (DVAG) is not just a financial services provider; it is an educational institution, a community of values and a place for development. Its educational strategy, the close integration of practice and theory, its commitment to equal opportunities and its deep-rooted sense of social responsibility make DVAG a place where it is not only success that is fostered, but also the future. In our anniversary year 2025, it is clearer than ever that the profession of financial advisor has a real future. And DVAG creates the conditions for this future to be shaped with expertise, integrity and compassion.

Individual development – regardless of background or career path

A career with a future that offers strong professional opportunities, which at the same time fits into people’s lives. DVAG enables careers that can be shaped flexibly, individually and sustainably. It doesn't matter whether someone starts straight after school, is looking to enter the profession via a degree, or is embarking on a new career path as a career-changer with experience – what matters is the potential to think entrepreneurially, take on responsibility and inspire others. The career paths at DVAG are as diverse as the people themselves. While some focus on direct client contact, others build their own teams or take on leadership roles. The framework conditions allow for maximum freedom to shape your own path, for example, in balancing work and family life or in choosing your own path to learning. Equal opportunities are put into practice: background, gender or age are irrelevant. What counts is what someone wants to achieve, and how willing they are to work on themselves.

What particularly inspires me about Deutsche Vermögensberatung (DVAG) is the opportunity to work independently whilst creating real added value for both my clients and my team. I coach them on important decisions, can organise my own work flexibly and continuously develop personally. That gives me fresh motivation every day.
